Little Yuin Preschool

The Little Yuin Aboriginal Preschool is based at Wallaga Lake and has been successfully operating for 20 years and run by a volunteer Aboriginal management committee. Merrimans Local Aboriginal Land Council is the land owner.

The preschool provides early education to children aged 2 to 6 years in a cultural setting.

The school facilities include a specific building which houses the early education program andcontains a main activity room, kitchen, laundry, toilets, storeroom, office and meeting room. It has a large playground with equipment, shade area

and under-cover play space.

  • A culturally appropriate and local venue for the delivery of a range of early educational programes as well as providing additional services such as out of school activities and vacation programmes
  • Establishment of collaborative relationships/partnerships with the community as well as key child and family services
  • Increased level of education and well-being of children
  • Supports timely access to early intervention and family support networks & services
  • An enhanced capacity to identify community needs
